CVG’s R&D team can ferret out any rattling or squeaking sounds in a truck cab using the Spherical Beamform Array, a state-of-the-art noise identification tool. It includes 50 microphones and 12 cameras and provides a 360-degree sound field map, used inside and outside a vehicle cabin. Its use results in quick spatial or frequency location of noise sources such as leaks from seals and transient buzzes, squeaks and rattles. The Spherical Beamform offers quick setup and data collection.
